Requirements for All Applicants:
No audition or fee is required
Students must attend Berks County schools and
reside in Berks County
Previous recipients are encouraged to reapply, except
for a Jensen Fellowship
The Scholarship Committee may prefer applicants
enrolled in programs not devoted primarily to marching
band instruction
Students with financial need will be preferred over
students with no apparent need
(teachers should mention
family financial need in their recommendations)
The Foundation will award the cost of the camp up to
$500
Other summer camp opportunities beyond the specific
programs described below are available. Students of all
music genres are encouraged to apply.
Peter
J. Brye Cello & Harp Fund
One award is given
annually to cellists and/or harpists in grades 7-11
Camp program will feature
any combination of orchestra or chamber ensembles for
cello or harp.
Irvin & Lois E. Cohen Vocal Summer Camp
Program
At least one award is
given annually to vocalists in grades 7-11
Camp program will feature
any combination of vocal music: classical,
semi-classical, or music theater
James
E. Fegley Orchestral String Scholarship Fund
At least one award is
given annually to string students in grades 7-11
Camp program will feature
any combination of orchestra, string ensemble, chamber
music or jazz ensemble
Gladys & Carl Jensen Summer Camp Fellowship Program
Up to two awards are given
annually
Open to instrumentalists
and vocalists in grades 7-11
who have not yet attended
any summer music program
Following camp, recipients must complete an activity of
their choosing that promotes their camp experience and
the benefits of music education (volunteering with
his/her band director/performing at a nursing home,
etc.). The proposed activity must be described in the
applicants application.
Camp program will feature
any combination of chorus, orchestra, symphonic or
concert band, jazz, ensemble and chamber music
The students
parent/guardian must commit to contribute $50 toward the
camp fee
Music
Educators of Berks County Summer Camp Program
Up to three awards are
given annually
Open to instrumentalists
and vocalists in grades 7-11 who have participated in
any MEBC Junior or Senior High School Music Festival
Camp program will feature
any combination of chorus, orchestra, symphonic or
concert band, jazz, ensemble and chamber music
Camp
Operation Replay
Multiple awards are given
annually
Open only to
Operation Replay instrument recipients in grades 7-11
Camp program will feature
any combination of orchestra, symphonic or concert band,
jazz, ensemble and chamber music
Willis M. Rapp Percussion Summer Music
Camp Program
One award is given
annually to percussionists in grades 7-9
Camp program will feature
any combination of orchestra, chamber, solo or concert
ensembles for percussion
Solomon Frank & Phyllis Ensher Peters Scholarship Fund
One award is given
annually to oboists or harpists in grades 7-11
Camp program will provide
an opportunity to perform in an ensemble or as soloist
on oboe or harp.
Runyeon Piano Scholarship Fund
At least one award is
given annually to acoustic pianists in grades 7-9
Camp program will feature
piano study
Scheidt/Heslop Jazz Fund
One award is available
annually to instrumentalists or vocalists in grades K-12
The camp program will
focus primarily on jazz studies
Work
Family Woodwind Fund
Multiple awards are given
annually to woodwind students in grades 7-11
Camp program will feature
any combination of orchestra, symphonic or concert band,
wind or jazz ensemble and chamber music
Wyomissing Foundation Middle School Brass Program
Multiple awards are
available annually to brass students in grades 7-9
Camp program will feature
any combination of symphonic or concert band, brass
ensemble, orchestra, jazz ensemble and chamber music
