Over the last year, RMF has refocused our mission, looking carefully to where our grant dollars are allocated. With RMF’s mission to advance and advocate music education and appreciation, we defined four categories and awarded grants in all areas. The bulk of funds provided through these grants comes from RMF’s annual campaign, in which 100% of donations are reinvested into the greater Reading music community.

Types of Grants Available through RMF:

  • Programs that Advance Music Education – These programs must nurture musicians to the fullest extent of their ability/talent and engage members of the community as active participants and contributors to music teaching and learning
  • Programs that Advocate Music Education – These programs must increase and strengthen the capacity of school music programs and community music education organizations as well as be collaborative in nature
  • Programs that Advance Music Appreciation – These programs must develop and engage new and existing audiences as well as foster increased access to the musical arts in Berks County
  • Programs that Advocate Music Appreciation – These programs must increase and strengthen the infrastructure capacity of community-based music providers and organizations as well as be collaborative in nature
